Minutes from the December 16 1997 Meeting

Business Meeting:
1. Dave Egolf announced that William O'Brien will be the technical
presenter at the Spring Inland NW Regional meeting. The meeting date has
been set for February 26, 1997, with specific times and places to be
announced. Dave expressed the hope that members would mark their calendars
for this outstanding presentation.
2. A full set of reprinted texts from the Acoustical Society of America is
available for a chapter library. Approximately 20 texts need a repository:
logically the materials should reside at either UI or WSU so that they are
available to the membership. Members at the meeting expressed concern that
they _not_ be relegated to the libraries of the universities.
3. Philip Marston announced that he has a list of reprinted texts from ASA.
Purchase of these texts is strongly promoted, as this guarantees
continuation of the process of reprinting out-of-print materials.
4. Dave Egolf reminded members that the student dues for membership in ASA
remains a bargain at $35.00.
Technical Session:
1. A technical presentation was made by Terry Baird of Hewlett-Packard in
Boise.
